ST PETER CHANEL MAJOR SPEAKERS SERIES

One of the programs we are proud to sponsor is the St. Peter Chanel Major Speakers Series. Our goal is to bring nationally- and internationally-known Catholic speakers to St. Peter Chanel who will both educate you and inspire you to be the best Catholic you can be. Speakers will bring their expertise and message in the areas of scripture study, Catholic apologetics, spirituality and prayer life, and events of current and enduring importance. We strive to find speakers whose message will also give you practical direction in your search for God's Holy Will in your life.

Past Events

Jeff Cavins: Adventures in Matthew Bible Seminar - 402 people attended this one-day bible study seminar on September 15, 2007. This was Jeff's second visit to St. Peter Chanel. While his 2006 visit presented an overview of the entire story of Salvation History with the Great Adventure Bible Timeline Seminar, the Adventures in Matthew focused on the Gospel of Matthew, built on the foundation of the Old Testament.

Special thanks are extended to Blessed Trinity High School for the use of their auditorium and to Bob Tolton of the BTHS Fine Arts Department and Band Director for his tireless support of the sound system and school facilities, without which we could not have presented the seminar. We are also very appreciative of Frank Moore, Principal of BTHS for allowing us use of the facilities. And as always the contributions of the many SPC volunteers were invaluable, with special recognition to Hugh and Jo Ann Hayman.

Patrick Madrid: Surpirsed By The Truth Conference and Bible Seminar - More than 350 people attended this two-day seminar on January 26-27, 2007. Patrick, a Catholic author and EWTN television and radio host, spoke on the following topics:

Feedback on the seminar was very positive and many expressed the wish that similar speakers be invited in the future.

Jeff Cavins: The Great Adventure - On September 15-16, 2006, Jeff brought his well-known bible timeline seminar to St. Peter Chanel. The author of many books, including My Life on the Rock, and the former host of an EWTN Catholic television program of the same name, Jeff captivated the 525 conference participants with his easy style and extensive knowledge of Sacred Scripture. His approach to introducing people to the story of Salvation History caught the hearts and attention of many who were there. A 24-week, in-depth bible study of the Great Adventure was held during three separate time tracks in the months that followed this seminar.

Feedback that followed the seminar was overwhemingly positive and has led to Jeff's return this coming September 15, 2007, when he will present a one-day scripture study entitled, "Adventures in Matthew". See above under Upcoming Events for a link to more information and a registration form.
