"Where We Are Family!"

Helping to maintain the altar linens is a silent, generous way to serve God and the parish community. Parishioners take turns each week as the primary person or substitute responsible for collecting, cleaning, and pressing the linens used during the Masses and on the altar. Volunteers usually serve two or three times per year. We always are looking for substitute and primary volunteers.

We all need to pray for vocations. Each week, families have the opportunity to bring into their homes a chalice that has held the consecrated blood of our Lord Jesus Christ into their homes. The purpose of the Elijah Cup is as a focus for family prayer for religious vocations in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, for seminarians and for our serving religious. It is a powerful presence and inspires prayer for adults and children alike.

Lord Jesus, without seeing you with our bodily eyes, we believe that you are present in the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist is Christ yesterday, today and tomorrow. We welcome parishioners who would like to serve the community at Mass by administering the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. This is a very special and privileged ministry as we are authorized to dispense Holy Communion during Mass. Training sessions are held quarterly for new ministers as well as those who have served in other parishes. The minimum age for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion is sixteen. To be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, you must take part in Eucharistic Adoration, have received Confirmation and be appointed by the pastor.

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all you lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” Ps. 100: 1-2
Our music ministry seeks to encourage full, conscious and active participation in our liturgies through music drawn from our rich Catholic heritage. To help us reach this goal, please consider membership in one or more of the groups listed below:
The Adult Choir sings at the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass (September – May) and at special liturgies throughout the year. The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and new singers are always welcome (no audition required).
The Children's / Youth Choir sings at various liturgies throughout the year (September – May). Students in grades 2 through 8 are encouraged to join us. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Instrumentalists (Brass, Woodwinds, Strings): We are assembling a pool of accomplished instrumentalists from high school age and up to share their talents at special liturgies throughout the year. If you are interested in getting involved, contact the Music Director for more information.

The Sacristy Ministry is centered on preparation of the altar and altar area for the celebration of Mass. We ensure that the bread and wine are prepared to be brought to the altar during the presentation of gifts. We keep fresh candles on the altar. We replace the corporal and clean the chalices and ciboria, and place purificators and towels out to be used during the celebration of Mass. While we welcome anyone who would like to be a part of this ministry, we are especially in need of teens that would be willing to take on responsibility for the Teen Mass Sunday evening.
