Overview of Middle School PSR
The Middle School Program at St. Peter Chanel seeks to:
- Nourish the spiritual development of youth through faith learning and liturgical experiences
- Foster a commitment to others through community service opportunities
- Develop a sense of a parish community by providing social events
Program Options
Sunday Mornings
- Sunday Morning - 9:00 to 10:15AM, or
- Sunday Morning - 10:45 to Noon
Curriculum: We Live Our Faith by Sadlier
Select an age level below to review the curriculum focus:
- Age 11 (6th grade) - We Are God's People (Sadlier)
- Age 12 (7th grade) - Disciples of Jesus (Sadlier)
- Age 13 (8th grade) - Members of the Church (Sadlier)
These sessions meet in a traditional classroom setting with an emphasis on fellowship and active learning. A middle school donut social is held each week from 10:15-10:45am. All Sunday Sessions meet at Blessed Trinity High School.
Sunday or Wednesday Evenings
- Wednesday Bible Study 7:00 to 8:15pm, or
- Sunday Bible Study 6:45 to 8:00pm (includes pizza and soft drinks)
Curriculum: Breakthrough! Bible Study by St. Mary’s Press
This program is designed to hand on Catholic teaching through scripture study. Each age level has a separate study that covers topics similar to those offered in our traditional middle school PSR program. All participants are encouraged to read Scripture apssages at home and to be be prepared to participate in related discussions and activities each week. On Sundays ONLY, a light meal (pizza and soft drink) is served immediatly following the 5:00PM Mass. Middle School Bible Study is held in the St. Peter Chanel building classrooms.
- Level 6 (Age 11) - Salvation History/The Pentateuch, Historical Books
- Level 7 (Age 12) - The Life of Jesus/ Prophetic Books, Gospels
- Level 8 (Age 13) - The Early Church/Acts, Letters & Epistles

Event Calendar Notes:
Social Events are open to all middle school parish members and their friends. We highly encourage participation at these events by Catholic School and Home School participants.
*Sunday PSR events are held at 9:00AM and 10:45AM during the regular PSR sessions. Middle Schoolers who attend Catholic School or Home Schooled students are invited to attend but are asked to email us so that we know to expect you. We must have health information on any youth attending these events but not registered for PSR.
Permission Slip Policy: We must have a Medical Release on file for every person under the age of 21 left in our care. For everyone registered for PSR, that information is on file. If your child attends an event but is not registered for PSR, please complete the Medical Release Form.
Parents must complete a new Medical Release for each off-site event your child attends.
