Planned Giving: A Legacy of Giving

Planned Giving is a way that you can create a life-changing legacy for St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church while providing some very real benefits for you.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta encourages Catholics of North Georgia to consider utilizing planned giving for the local parish.

The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia helps Catholics provide real support in the form of planned gifts, endowment funds and one-time donations of all types and sizes.

The Foundation exists to help guide you in assisting the long-term financial stability of the Catholic community by raising funds, managing them well and carefully distributing them to parishes, schools and other nonprofits.

Our main areas of support are in children and youth services, community development, education and literacy, health sciences, human services and religion.

Making a life-changing gift is easy.

In fact, you don't even need cash to donate. You can make an impact with IRAs, life insurance, real estate or a bequest through your will. No matter how you choose to leave your legacy to the Catholic community, you can be confident that the money will go where you wish and where it will do the most good.

Listed below are a few of the many different ways that you can leave your family as much as possible while supporting the Catholic Church.

Everyone Benefits

Improving Your Bottom Line: Unitrust Plan

This plan allows an individual or couple to realize four significant objectives by using a low producing asset. With the Unitrust Plan you can:

The heart of this plan is the couple's desire to provide support for a charity (or charities) at a specified time in the future. In addition to achieving your philanthropic wishes, you can also receive a stream of income annually; bypass capital gains tax on the property transferred into the unitrust; and receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction. You can actually increase your income and still leave a gift to charity.

Gifts of Home: Real Estate

Chances are you own a personal residence or vacation home that has appreciated over time. If you are like many individuals, at some point you will want to sell your property and are looking for a way to increase your income and avoid paying capital gains tax. Did you know that your home could be the key to your future?

A number of plans for your home permit you to make a gift to charity and receive income and tax benefits.

There are plans that provide you with income, cash and a charitable deduction:

You can also structure the plan so that you can stay in your home AND receive a Charitable Tax Deduction.

Win-Win Proposition: Charitable Gift Annuity

The Charitable Gift Annuity is a perfect example of how our tax laws continue to provide special ways for you to accomplish two objections with one asset. In fact, a close look at the Gift Annuity reveals a true win-win proposition.

The Gift Annuity makes it possible for you to receive high returns on an asset for the rest of your life and ultimately results in a charitable contribution. So, while you can take steps to secure a high annuity payment for the rest of your life, you can also realize philanthropic goals.
