Journey As A Friend

"In the company of friends, we will find strength to attain our sublime ideal." — St. Maximilian Kolbe.

An OCIA Sponsor is a fully initiated Catholic who accompanies and supports people (catechumen or candidate) on their journey into the Catholic Church. Sponsors offer encouragement, spiritual support, prayer, and companionship, participate in teaching sessions, and stand with their sponsor at milestones along the way. They are not required to be teachers but serve as a welcoming, faith-filled presence, while also deepening their own faith through the experience.
